We have developed a programme of special events, talks and practical sessions at the nursery throughout the year which are proving popular with our customers

Whatever your interest in flowers you'll find something to interest you, even if your knowledge just goes as far as mothers day flowers .There is so much to learn and a lot of beauty to take in. We really hope we will see you here soon and spark your interest in the natural world.

• In February we focus on A Celebration of Snowdrops and Helleborus in the Winter Garden

• April is when we hold our  Special Woodland and Shade Loving Plants Days and our Complete Chicken Day

• In September there are two Special Autumn Open Days

•        Short talks throughout the day on how to get the best from your Hellebores and what looks good with them

•        A wide range of winter flowering shrubs, perennials and Rare Snowdrop cultivars available for sale

•        An undercover display incorporating Cornus, Salix, Cyclamen, Galanthus,   Pulmonarias and Ferns

•        Guided tours of the Hellebore stock tunnel: not normally open to the public (Donation to West Suffolk Voluntary Association for the Blind requested)

•      Order and reserve your favourite Hellebore colours to collect during the weekend or order in advance for them to be sent by mailorder

Send your order to us with a cheque for the appropriate amount and we will contact you when these plants are available for your collection during February/March 2013

Complete Chicken Day 2013

Roger & Teresa Harvey have enjoyed keeping chickens for over 20 years and have an interesting flock which live in the orchard.  Chickens make entertaining and undemanding pets and fresh eggs for the kitchen are a real treat.  Come along, be inspired and find out more about keeping chickens.  

A larger display of poultry and goods offered for sale than in previous years.  This day is suitable for everyone.

• Experts from Colchester Poultry Club will be on hand with specialist advice and information

• Talks throughout the day

• Prize birds will be on show, chickens, ducks, geese, swans & quail

• Stalls and poultry related equipment for sale

• Poultry and fertile eggs for sale on the day

Special Flavours of Chelsea Weekend 2013

We have some wonderful plants to exhibit at Chelsea this year and for those of you that are not venturing to The Chelsea Flower Show we have decided to bring the flavours of the show to Harveys Garden Plants.
